Just got a bunch of "professional copy" lead sheets from Eric Stevens
(aka Harry Jeavons) of songs he has written that are topical and
readily adaptable to OKOM. Complete with chords and words.
They include:
Darlene's From New Orleans"
Yes, We Know What It Means (To Miss New Orleans)
Hello Satchmo
The Gas Pump Blues
Senior Citizen Blues
Give Me A Good Old Singalong Song
Always Treat Your Mate Like You're On Your First Date
No doubt you can see by their titles that they would work well in
multiplicity of venues. Like if you do retirement homes or OKOM
festivals, Senior Citizen Blues is a natural.
If other bands/leaders are interested, give Eric a shout at <eric.stevens8 at verizon.net
> If you play them, he asks that you announce composer credit on mic
when you do so. If you record them, write or call him for a mechanical
license. His phone is 757-481-7792, fax is 757-481-3926, web site is http://www.ericstevensmusic.com
Eric is a member of ASCAP, AFof M, Manhattan Association of Cabarets,
Society of Singers, Songwriter's Hall of Fame, National Academy of
Popular MUsic, The Mabel Mercer Foundation, N.Y. Sheetmusic Society,
N.Y. Songwriter's Circle, Traditional Jazz Educators' Network and
resides in Virginia Beach VA, USA.
