    Although it is by no means a recent issue, I have just come across for the first time a Decca CD titled "A Piano Anthology," 20 tracks of piano solos from 20 giants. And I must tell you that the liner notes you wrote for it were absolutely perfect, a remarkable job of describing the importance of each pianist, from Jelly Roll Morton to Bill Evans, and offering a  lucid technical assessment of each solo that can be easily understood by laymen listeners, something rarely seen.

    When the recording was issued I hope that the notes were at least nominated for a Grammy; they certainly contained all the necessities for winning one.
