Unlike some other members of this group I did hear some of  Woo..llen's Radio 3 series on his beloved clarinetists.  May I suggest that for an exact match you think of  not a Barnes or a Humphries or a Hall far less a Cottrell or Michaux but  (as I suggested in my first posting on this topic)

a player of many parts, some of them tongued but not so many grooved.  Far from being confined to the Crescent City he has always been all over the place and always will be.
A minor performer who sounds remarkably natural, and frequently sharp, when the key is B flat major. Equal facility in all keys,  and  even a  four-bar break  seemed as full  as a  64 bar solo,  and can Bill Haesler think of any other lines from Lascaux 
or from Marty Grosz
