I loved this reading and this CD and, now remembering my manners, must
acknowledge Jim Rothermel, who furnished the chart and lyrics to me a few
years ago.
Thanks, Jim.
Regards,
Tom

Jim Rothermel on reeds, Bill Carroll on tuba, and I recorded it back in 1997
and it's on our "Wise Guys Down In Dixieland" CD. It's kind of a cool tune,
and it changes to an unexpected key in the middle which, I think, makes it
rather interesting. It's Bill Carroll's (who was Turks tuba player for
probably 20 years) very last recording.
I sang it, but the key was awfully high and it sounds a little rough on the
high notes. It definitely is a novelty, but brings smiles. My late, then 95
year-old mother-in-law used to love the "you can learn a lot from Lydia"
line.
Not to toot our horn too much, but you can get the CD at
www.santhony.com/ggrm if you want.

I can send you the entire piano/vocal song. It's nine pages long, but I have
it scanned into an MS-Word file which I will send you in a few days when I
get back home from my knee repair surgery.
If you do it, are you prepared to smear on a greasepaint moustache and
imitate Groucho's walk?
