Dear Bill,
I second what Jim and Roger wrote you -- I have been saving your series
of posts in a special folder marked "Internet Sales/CD info" and have been
planning to read them all at once -- especially since I am at this very
moment in time finishing up my very first CD and getting ready to master it
next week ("Jazzin' with Jeanne: Live From Las Vegas") . It's been a very
exciting process (it was recorded live at my Las Vegas gig the end of
November and then we've been using ProTools to tighten and clean it up -- as
well as adding Corey Gemme on cornet to make it even more fabulous).
The truly wonderful part is that the Sac a Pulse jazz band brought out
the swing kids who saw them at the Phoenix LindyXchange to the last three of
my shows (I had a "four Wednesdays in November" booking) -- and they've
since asked me to perform at First Friday emceeing their swing
demonstrations on the main stage.
Las Vegas is fairly new at First Fridays --it's not as big as it is in
San Francisco or Seattle -- but it is an all ages, thousands of attendees
event every month and I'm hoping to be able to have my band perform there
once it gets warmer (everything is outside) -- and I'll want to have a flyer
that shows a MySpace page (not yet built), Facebook page (not yet built),
etc.
So, I'll be looking over Stephen Barbone, Tom Wiggins and all of Bill
Sargent's posts on marketing and building a fan base of all ages -- I've
been saving them up for when I'd need them -- and the time is now!
So, thanks for sharing all that you've learned -- I'm really looking
forward to getting everything up and running! I really want to start
performing and singing at jazz festivals instead of just emceeing and
hosting a room!
thanks again,
Jeanne Brei
