Dear Listmates & Ron, if we look outside the box, this tune (just 50 years old) makes a fairly decent instrumental if arranged properly,?for groups like the ones that frequent?this list. We played a 50th college class reunion last May with a?band that included, among others,?John Allred, Ken Peplowski, Randy Reinhart, and Eddie Metz. The tune went over very well, and got all the attendees up - dancing and singing and listening.?My guess that the 60 to 80 age group loves a lot of these "familiar" tunes, with a little repackaging. And BTW,?it did swing too. There are lots more just like it - how about "Tonight You Belong To Me"? That's in the Bob Cat book also. with no woo-woos or honeys, or yada yadas.
Regards to all,
Ed Metz?

That was 'Gonna get along without you now', mid-50's by a two-little-girl
group called Patience and Prudence.

Can't remember all the words but one line was, 'gonna find somebody who's
twice as sweet cuz I didn't like you anyhow', interspersed with lots of
woo-woo, my honey, boo-hoo, my honey, yada yada yada...

Everybody over-saccharined yet??

Nothing in the least jazzy about it, but since you asked...

Song Specialists,
I have a song bouncing around in my head and I can't remember the title,
but some words I do remember are:

I got along without ya before I met ya,
And I can get along without ya now...

Does anyone have:
The name of this song?
The rest of the words?

Thanx in advance,
Bill Hildebrandt
