NEW ORLEANS JAZZ with EAST COAST CLASS
at an STJS fundraiser for their annual Trad. Jazz Youth Band Festival

The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society presents Ed Polcer's
East Coast All-Stars at a fundraiser for the annual Trad. Jazz
Youth Band Festival. The "Long Live JAZZ" concert features
nationally-known musicians Wycliffe Gordon (Lincoln Center Orch.)
and saxophonist Houston Person as part of a sextet performing
classic jazz and swing for dancers and listeners alike.
Bandleader and cornetist Ed Polcer hires only the best musicians
for his nationwide tours. For many years, he was co-owner of
the famous Eddie Condon's Jazz Club in New York City, and he
has performed for President Clinton at the White House and for
the King of Thailand in Bangkok. The East Coast All-Stars will
perform at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at Christ Unity
Church in Sacramento, then teach a jazz-ensemble clinic at
Rio Americano High School on Wednesday morning. Radio host
George Esposito will emcee the concert that is underwritten
by Nelmar Construction and sponsored by Midtown Stomp, KXJZ,
and Arbors Records "Statesmen of Jazz."
Tickets are $25 in advance; $35 at the door.
"Send-a-Student" tickets may be purchased to allow STJS to
send worthy young musicians to the concert.
"Patron" tickets are $100 and include preferred seating plus a
chance to mingle with the musicians at a pre-concert reception.
