The January-February Hot Jazz Channel show (www.radiojazz.co.uk) - which
goes "live" today - sees the radio debut of two exciting bands. The first is
British in the form of George Huxley's Jazzmen and the second is American
being the Bay City Jazzmen. Among the more established names featured this
month are Fred Vigorito's Galvanised Jazz Band with guests Louis Nelson and
Tommy Benford, the Jim Cullum Jazz Band with Tracy Chapman, The Natural Gas
Jazz Band, the Dutch Swing College Band, Elkie Brooks with Humphrey
Lyttelton's Band, the Bucky Pizzarrelli Quintet with Warren Vaché, Chet
Baker's Quartet, the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Chris Barber's Jazz Band, Elazar
Brandt's Jazz Band, Freddy Lonzo and Michael Carrick and Dan Levinson's
Canary Cottage Orchestra. The classic segment this month features the New
Orleans Bootblacks, Cook's Dreamland Orchestra and Celestin's Original
Tuxedo Orchestra.
The Hot Jazz Channel shows are devised and presented by Brian Harvey and
engineered by John Booth.
