Not a bad idea for Jazz Festivals/Societies to pick-up on.

Shipmates Under the Influence of Gilbert and Sullivan
NY TIMES - By ALLAN KOZINN - January 10, 2008
Since the company was founded in 1974, the New York Gilbert & Sullivan
Players have made a point of building their seasons around an alternation of
the three most frequently heard Savoyard operettas ³The Pirates of
Penzance,² ³The Mikado² and ³H.M.S. Pinafore² and the lesser-known works
that make up the rest of the canon.
So having opened its G&S Fest 2008 with ³Princess Ida,² the company has
turned its attention to ³Pirates.² And with that as its drawing card, it is
hoping to lure a new generation of Gilbert and Sullivan fans. For Tuesday
night¹s performance at City Center children younger than 12 were given free
tickets, so long as the adults who accompanied them bought theirs, and there
seemed to be one or two youngsters in most rows.
