Jeff Hughes played with us for two years while our trumpeter was away
playing a theater show. Jeff was teaching at the American School in Madrid
at the time. He is on our first recording. He & I shared the singing
chores on the recording.

That sounds like what happened to Jeff Hughes. He is a fine trumpet player
and had a super singing voice/style. He was in a hotel where some idiot
used propane inside. There was a flash fire. The bass player didn't make
it. Jeff had weeks of hospital stay and operations over several years to
repair damage to vocal chords. His voice will never be the same. He is
also a sweetheart of a guy.
