[Dixielandjazz] Austin Jam Session

Dear Listers:

OKOM musicians and listeners alike are welcome at the 6th Annual Austin
Traditional Jazz Society Jam Session, which will be held on Sunday, January
13 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Cap City Comedy Club, Research Boulevard and
Anderson Square in Austin, TX.  There is no admission charge, and the Cap
City has both a bar and a kitchen.

This has turned into a really nice event in recent years.  Previously
unknown jazz musicians have surfaced and become fixtures on the Austin jazz
scene.  For a couple of years new bands did demonstration sets, but now we arew drawing over 
20 jammers, and it takes all three sets to give them a good
hearing.  Some of the best players in Austin participate, and the audience
loves the mix-and-match results.

This may be your best opportunity to get a Dan Augustine autograph on a
cocktail napkin!
