Very sad news indeed! Chuck was always a real happy guy and a joy to have on a gig...he will be sorely missed by all who knew him...and his attitude was unbelievable right up to the end...
I'll certainly raise a glass to Chuck today!!!

  It is with heavy heart that I let you all know that Chuck Eastman, former banjo player for Tuleburg Jazz Band, from Stockton CA, and most recently with Gene Berthelsen's Catznjammers from Sacramento, passed away this afternoon around 5:00 pm our time, from the ravages of cancer.

  Final arrangements have not been made yet, due to the New Year Holiday, but I will advise you as things develop.

  He was a great friend and will be missed greatly.
