Robert, thanks for mentioning this cleaner on DJML, and all your comments.
I'm sure it will all be interesting for those involved in cleanup
procedures.
I'm particularly in agreement with your comments on the possibility of
adding artefacts with computer noise removal software. One can readily hear
the "glu-glubs" that can be added when software is overused. I use the
Cedar equipment (not software, but the actual gear) in my studio, and am
quite aware of the limits to which these processes can be used.
I recently heard the familiar artefacts on a commercial recording that I was
working with. I had been required to lower the speed of the music, and the
added sounds then became very noticeable. Caution is the operational word
with noise removal.
