[Dixielandjazz] BEER

Hi all,

No, really, it's pronounced Keets! This place (Kelly's, a VERY British style pub) is in a predominately English section of Montreal. And almost ALL the people in the bar (and in the area) speak English! Anyway, I was pounced upon and corrected immediately when I tried to call it "Keiths" (rhyming with teeths...) It must be a Nova Scotian pronunciation... (He was the mayor of Halifax, I looked it up on their website) - who knows (or, really, who cares)... But it's REALLY good, bottom line...

And as we say here in Quebec (the French), Sante!

Keets? Seems very dubious. Presumably it's a French-Canadian pronunciation.
The Scottish name Keith rhymes with teeth.
You have to make up for this by drinking to the memory of a great Englishman called Keith Smith!

  Slainte!

I stumbled across (pun intended) a great beer here in Quebec. I think it's
made in Nova Scotia and it's called Alexander Keiths (pronounced - Keets)
Jazz content - I drink it every Tues. listening to the Jazz Knights down at
Kelly's Pub in Pointe Claire :-) Oh my gosh, that's tonight - happy Fat
    Tuesday everybody!!!
    All the Best,
    Steve "Stubby" Heist
