I also kept waiting for a bit more from Vince and the gang, but I know that
they are only featured and not starred in Garrison Keillor's format. It is
very much his show, so one gets a lot of Garrison and some of the featured
artists. At least there is one source for OKOM and he regularly employs
folks like Andy Stein or Butch Thompson.
Best regards,

I have to say I was disappointed, Nancie. After a last moment mad scramble
to get my gear hooked up, I heard the first 40 minutes live and recorded the
last 80 to CD. The audio quality was quite good apart from some sibilance on
HK's voice and occasionally on some instruments too. I should note this is
the first time in a long while that I've tried recording streaming audio, so
any imperfections were probably down to my hurried set up.
My disappointment was because the band had only three numbers to themselves
~ Shake That Thing, Echoes of Harlem and Henderson Stomp. There may have
been another band only tune at the top of the programme, but I'm not now
sure. I was expecting more than three tunes in a two hour show. I know the
Nighthawks did a couple of other things with a female singer and HK, but
they were not what I was waiting up to 01.00hrs UK time hoping to hear.
Anyway, it was an interesting experiment for me and my thanks to Bob
Ringwald for notifying the the list in advance about the broadcast.
