The credits give a copyright date of 2008, the film I saw wasn't the 1968 tour (which I remember) but Newport 1970 and the it now seems premature birthday party. There were solo spots from Messers. Hackett, Newman (Joe), Davison, Gillespie, Nance and Owens (Jimmy) with Dave McKenna, Oliver Jackson on drums and an uncredited young bassist,  Benny Morton and Tyree Glenn sat together tromboning and various ensemble contributions were made by the other trumpeters/cornetists. Between the tribute spots Louis himself offered a retrospective commentary.
Then he was on stage, just singing, with Hackett and Glenn, and Jack Lesberg replacing the younger bassist in the rhythm section.
A few numbers and it was back to the retrospect, Louis at home talking about a few things including a Beatles number which was no different from what the great man heard when a boy selling newspapers in NO.  Mahalia made her exit, Louis danced about in celebration of what he in his commentary called her "good music" and they did The Saints with some assistance from the Preservation Hall band, Willie Humphrey clarinetless, huge and trying successfully not to upstage everybody.  I'm not sure who was at the piano and the organ which had been accompanying Ms. Jackson for the closer, "Mack the Knife."
The credits rolled over Louis apparently rehearsing "Wonderful World" singing over the shoulder of a rather strained-looking Dave McKenna (who did get a few solo spots among the trumpeters at the start, and sounded very much his distinctive self).

I fear however that the preceding programme, on Swing, suggested only

KEN BURNS, ALL IS FORGIVEN!!!  (I'm still not sure this would extend to including "come back...")
