Hi Jim,
I am afraid that is true but what really sticks in my craw is the use of 
`like` in totally inappropriate places.  As in `She was getting dressed like 
she was going out` Whatever happened to `as if`.?
Even worse is `We are, like, going out for the day`. I have no idea where 
that construction came from or what it replaces.
