That  "sort of hill-billy style" is a wonderful example of "Old Time 
Fiddling" which is a genre all to its own.  Those two are great.
Add a 5 string banjo and a mandolin hitting off beat chords and you have 
Bluegrass, which is not that far from OKOM with its driving beat.  True 
it does have its roots in Appalachia which I guess does make it hill 
billy. Both are MKOM.
