No, not ever with single malt, Ed. But fish and chips with a Guinness [or
two] is pure heaven!

Hold on gents, When I was in Jolly Old England during the WAR, I was told
that the fish in me Fish and Chips was Plaice. A bottom lyng fish not unlike
Flounder, Rex Sole, Sand Dabs, Halibut others of that ilk.

You mean to tell me that I was confused because of the war time. or
perhaps that was the only fish available??

Regardless, I enjoyed the fact that I could read the events of the day
while consuming that great British delicacy

  A single malt with F& C, UGH

  Slainte

  Ye Olde Mouldy Fygge

Right on Bob!!!!!
Who was it (Tony Hancock?) who, many years ago on BBC TV, included
those very same fish and chips in a television sketch.
It was reported that, immediately after the show, thousands of viewers
packed the local fish shops, such was the power of suggestion.
The comedian involved was allegedly awarded life membership of the
Fishmongers Guild!
OKOM content: Jelly Roll Morton's "Fishtail Blues", recorded Sept 1924.
Kind regards,
Bill.
