[Dixielandjazz] List of Tenor Sax Players

I liked Eddie Miller's stuff. Mellow sound, clear direction on his
improvisations.

I read somewhere that he was an alto player and his bandleader wanted to
switch him to tenor. So the bandleader gave Miller the night off to go and
listen to Freddy Martin on tenor. I don't know whether the story is true,
but I see very little Martin influence on Miller.

Eddie was featured on Pete Fountain's "The Blues" album of 1960. That album
featured a slue of Bob Crosby alumni. Eddie also played with the Pete
Fountain ensemble in the 1980's and 90's.
