Am I the only remaining fan of Eddie Miller? Hardly progressive, but an 
improvisor of pretty melodies around the original song structure. He 
said some beautiful things but never strayed so far from the melody and 
harmonies that you forgot what tune they started with. As near as I 
could tell, he wasn't trying to sound like anyone else, which is worth 
several points in his favor. You couldn't tell who he was "strongly 
influenced by...."
