You can hear the Metcalf cadenza, with King Oliver's Orchestra, (Jan 1929)
at the below web site. Just scroll down to the song list and play it.

By 1928, Oliver was in decline and if you listen to these songs, you will
realize why he never recorded "The Cadenza", if indeed he ever played it.

You will also hear the difference between Metcalf and Armstrong. No contest.
Perhaps it was issued as a "cover" record? <grin>
