[Dixielandjazz] Chicken dance

I know people have begged for this thread to end - - -sorry!!!

Here in the South, we hardly ever have to play it, only rarely, usually from
someone who just moved down here from elsewhere.

However, there was a time years ago where bands around here ALWAYS had to
play "Cotton-Eyed Joe" - you know, the fiddle tune where a caller cries
"What you say?" and the crowd answers "Bull$#1t"

The first time i ever heard it, i was in a pick-up reading band with a bunch
of guys i didn't know. i was playing bari-sax, the tune was in D, so i was
sight-reading in B, and when thee crowd started yelling "Bull$#1t!" i
thought they were complaining about the band.

Frankly, i enjoy the "Chicken Dance" more.
