We talked a lot about composers of tunes -- How about arrangers - Does a composer or arranger have to be a member of ASCAP or whatever organization to get paid?  Can you make a separate deal with the arranger to record a piece of arranged music?  What if no arranger is listed?

I have a lot of arrangements of public domain tunes and may want to use some of them on a CD.  Not all of them have an arranger listed.

What is a typical fee to use a tune?
