Reminds me of a story we were told at the monthly "musical enrichment"
concert at school in Poland when I was little. In the late 1940's, a
group of musicians was travelling to a school concert; among their
instruments there was a bassoon. In those days, there were still
anti-communist partisans in the forests, and gangs of Ukrainian
nationalists were trying to escape trials for collaboration with the
NAZIs and get to the West. At a remote train station the musicians
were arrested, and it took them a long time to explain that the
bassoon was a musical instrument, not a macine gun!
