I try to get $100 per man for the first hour and $25 for each hour after
that. I would probably take $100 each if it wasn't over two hours. You
sound like there might be a three way split site ie: wake / Church /
gravesite. I would treat it as three separate jobs unless they are really
close together Wake two hours $125 each, Mass 1 hour $100 and graveside add
$25 for each hour spent traveling and performing.
I could see a 4 pc group getting $500 for the wake and assuming 3 hours for
church and graveside another $800 or $1300 total. That would give them $300
each and you $400 This would depend on what the local musician would get.
New York would be a lot different than here.
Funerals are expensive things starting an average of $6000 here without
music.
I guess it depends on how much money you want to make and how much they want
to pay and how much your help costs. I did a memorial several months ago
and got $75 for a little over an hour but I was a sideman. We got lunch
too.
