Hmmm...after those commercials with Rosemary Clooney, I always thought
Coronet was a brand of toilet paper.

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] "Coronet" ? Yikes!!!
As a cornet player I feel obligated to point out the definitions of:
Cornet:
1. a brass band instrument resembling a trumpet but having a shorter
tube.greater agility and
a less brilliant tone (Webster) -- and might I add the 2 have a
differing rations of the cylindrical
tubing vs. the conical portion.
2. something shaped like a cone
From: (Middle English from the french corn = horn.)
------------------------------------------------
Coronet:
1. a small or lesser crown usually signifying rank less than that of a
sovereigh.
2, an ornamental wreath or band for the head usually worn by women on
formal occasions
From: (Middle French: coronette, Old French: coronete, French: corone)
-------------------------------------
I feel better now.
Craig Johnson
who plays cornet and has absolutely no desire to wear a coronet.
