There was indeed a bandleader by the name of Red Fox. Joe Darensbourg was a member of the group and they cut some apparently-unissued V-discs in the mid-40s. He was a drummer and vocalist
And, I'm working on the new releases for GHB- our next release will include a half-CD of the Archie Semple Quintet from a 1957 10" 77 LP- it will be coupled with a session featuring the Bill Greenow Quartet- should be out in a month or so. It will be Jazzology JCD-347
