The March-April edition of the Hot Jazz Channel show which is now live at
www.radiojazz.co.uk introduces several important bands that will be new to
listeners. Among them are the Magnificent V11 from Florida, the Jackie Coon
New Orleans band, the Mike Snelling Five and the Rick Faye Summa Orchestra
with Jon Erik Kellso, Marty Grosz and Keith Ingram. Also included is a rare
cut from the historic 1938 Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall jazz concert which at
six minutes 39 seconds has proved too long for a majority of radio stations.
Another rare "live" recording in the show is a five minute "I Can't Escape
>From You" by Bunk Johnson's New Orleans band made in 1946 at New York's
Stuyvesant Casino.
Others featured in the new one hour thirty nine minute programme include
Eddie Condon & Wild Bill Davison, Louis Armstrong's All Stars with Jack
Teagarden, the Ken Colyer Legacy New Orleans Jazz Band, Gregg Stafford, the
Jones - Collins Astoria Hot Eight, Henry Allen's Orchestra, the Benny
Goodman Quintet with Ruby Braff, Jim Cullum's Jazz Band with Bobby Hackett,
Chris Barber's Band and Sammy Rimington with Big Bill Bissonnette and Peter
Nissen's New Orleans Jazz Band.

In a further development the Hot Jazz Channel web site has unveiled a new
"Feature article" section, an archive of previously published magazine
features on such diverse subjects as - Did Buddy Bolden make the first jazz
cylinder, the night the Ken Colyer Band split into two, and who wheeled a
squeaky wheelbarrow across the studio during King Oliver's first session for
Gennett?

The Hot Jazz Channel shows are presented by Brian Harvey and engineered by
John Booth.
