Hello all,

The website has been updated with 5 items of great historical interest as 
set out below.

Genealogist Peter Hanley sends an excellent essay on Jelly Roll Morton's 
"Uncle" -- Henry Oswald Monette.   This accompanies Henry Monette's WWI 
draft registration card.

Brian Goggin sends an article from the Chicago Defender, dated 19th July 
1941.   Titled, "Swingin' The New" the feature column mentions Cootie 
Williams, Charlie Christian, Buck and Bubbles and, of course, Jelly Roll 
Morton.

Brian Goggin sends an in-depth essay on Hartzell Robert (Tiny) Parham. 
This accompanies Parham's WWI draft registration card and includes detailed 
and new information on this fine musician.

Prof. Alan Wallace sends a superb article from the TIMES magazine, dated 
22nd June 1962.   Titled, "No Hands"  the article mentions J. Lawrence Cook 
and Q.R.S. along with Aeolian and Macy's.

Brian Goggin sends an article from the Chicago Defender, dated 26th July 
1941.   In this article, titled, "Name Band Leaders Who 'Forgot' To Attend 
Jelly Roll's Funeral" the author slates Duke Ellington, Jimmy Lunceford and 
Ella Fitzgerald for their non attendance.
