[Dixielandjazz] Nicknames for instruments

Steve  bestofbreed at alltel.net    Responded to my "flat instrument" 
posting and referred to his trombone as a "slush pump".   I know that 
clarinets have been called "licorice sticks", banjos "rotary 
lawnmowers",  Upright basses "doghouses", etc,  but I've never heard 
another nickname for  a trumpet (or cornet).. Anyone know of any?  also 
nicknames for other instruments . . . ?
