[Dixielandjazz] Entertainers vs. Jazz Artists

The thread about the Louis Armstrong debacle reminds me a bit of two major
jazz festivals that recently took place in Spain.  The opening act at one
"Jazz" Festival was Elton John.
The other "Jazz" Festival was opened by Isaac Hayes (of "Shaft" fame).  

While both acts may be excellent, they are certainly not Jazz.  

It's terrible how the title "Jazz" is being diluted in the minds of the
general public.
