A good reason for Dixieland Bands to seek out and play music in the parks
all over the USA. It is "lots of things to lots of people". Best of all,
these park concerts are free to the audience and the musicians are paid by
the various municipalities. There is nothing like performing where the
people are.

Cheers,

A Short Summer Season, Long on Reasons to Listen

The New York Philharmonic¹s Concerts in the Parks series has always been
lots of things to lots of people. It offers a way to hear the orchestra
perform free; an excuse for a picnic accompanied by up-market Tafelmusik; or
just a chance to lounge in one of the city¹s parks for a few hours . . .
etc.
