Hello all,
The website has been updated with 5 not-to-be-missed items of historical
interest to devotees of Percy Wenrich, Lester Melrose, Jelly Roll Morton and
J. Lawrence Cook.
Ragtime pianist and composer William Rowland sends a superb article on the
famous ragtime composer Percy Wenrich. This accompanies Wenrich's WWI
draft registration card.
Genealogist Peter Hanley sends an extended and updated "portrait" on Lester
Melrose.
Peter Hanley sends an article on Lester Melrose to accompany Melrose's WWI
draft registration card.
An Essay in Genealogy - updated details of St. Joseph's Church by Peter
Hanley.
Prof. Brian Dolan and Prof. Alan Wallace send the 7th in a series of superb
articles written by J. Lawrence Cook for the International Musician
magazine, dated July 1941. The article focuses on improvisation and
includes scans of hand-written music examples by Cook.
