Was married to Jeannie Cheatham. They were a performing duo for quite sometime. Jimmy filled in for Chuck Connors(bass trombonist) with Duke Ellington briefly in 1971. I think he also played with Thad Jones and Ornette Coleman but not sure about the time period.
