Not much, given this note on a modern jazz chat list. (Jazz West Coast).

BTW, is was answered with correct info about Buddy Bolden. But if any
DJMLers belong to JWC also, they might reference Dan Hardie's excellent book
about Buddy Bolden.

Cheers,

"I had a most interesting conversation with a young man in our condo
excercise room this p.m.--he's originally from Cincinnati--back visiting his
parents for the holidays--and living in the LA (Hollywood) area--where he is
employed in the "film" industry/business.

He's leaving on Monday for Wilmington, N.C. to start filming an independent
financed movie on a late 1800's/early 1900's coronet(?) player (black) by
the name of "King Bolding"--who apparently preceded Armstrong in the
development of "Jazz"--

According to this person--a "few" millionaire Jazz fans--have financed this
project--no idea who they might be--

According to my contact--King Bolding was never recorded--and was put in a
mental institution after only 5 years of "fame"--due to being schizophrenic
--where he died in the 1930's.

Have not gone to the web on King Bolding--but was made to believe there is
much information about him there--

Any additional info from listees--and Wynton :-) would be appreciated."
