It might be like the tin whistle that's and Irish instrument. Some think
it's a kids toy but can be a legitimate instrument. I think one is featured
in the theme from Titanic. It's sort of a recorder flute made from tin.
I don't now that's the case but sounds like it could be. They have a lot
more volume than the recorder.

I have seen ³tin Christmas horns² in memorabilia collections and
occasionally flea markets. They are not the Irish penny whistles that Larry
describes, but are little valveless tin horns, with one piece of tin
fashioned into a short conical bell, maybe 2 or 2.5 inches in diameter,
fixed onto a metal cone of various lengths, terminating in another piece of
tin fashioned into a mouthpiece aperture. They are crude but the edges are
rolled. Some have colored designs on them but I haven¹t seen any in mint
condition. I doubt any have been made in the last 70 years.
A DJML mechanics question: from the current archives, is there a convenient
way to click on a message and reply to it? Not seeing what is probably
obvious about this list, I have been cutting and pasting and creating a new
message in my email but my recollection of the subject I am replying to is
such that I am probably veering off subject or off thread in doing this.
Other bulletin boards I participate in from time to time seem to be more
user friendly in keeping replies on target. I guess I am probably doing
something wrong with this one...
