[Dixielandjazz] New member long story

Thank you Bob,

well I started playing flute and classical guitar as a kid, then I decided 
to become a professional musician and play trombone. My family was really 
worried about it but gave me the chance to try. I studied classical 
trombone, but I knew I wanted to play Jazz so I started going to dixieland 
concerts and became a fan of the Red Pellini Gang which is one of the best 
traditional jazz bands in Itlay.
I took some lessons with their trombonist and then I decided to try the 
summer program of Berklee College of music. That was amazing. Next year I 
tried to get a scholarship and practiced until my neighbors couldn't stand 
it any more. I got a scholarship and spent some time in Boston.
Back to Rome I played with various bands, big bands and I made a decent 
living with it.

My dream was to play with Red Pellini and he invited me to sit in with his 
band everytime I went to his shows. That was great. Then I fell in love with 
an american girl from Miami which was studying opera (she is a singer) in 
Rome and after a while we decided to get married. Once her student visa 
expired we moved to Miami and I had a chance to do a little job with Sam 
Rivers.
Now we are in Miami and I try to play as much as I can.

I always wanted to play OKOM so I tried to find musicians to join or form a 
band here and I found a few guys that are now the Miami Hot Jazz Cats. Funny 
thing is none of us is from Miami. I'm from Italy the others are from 
Chicago, NY, Louisiana ad Texas, but we all live in Miami at the moment.
When I played with Mr Pellini he suggested me to study as deep as I could 
all the old recordings and charts I could find, and that's what I did ever 
since.
I went to the HAGS jazz session last month and it was great. I hope we can 
do something like that in Miami too.
