[Dixielandjazz] Modern Banjo was Wynton's Wild Man Blues

More authentic? What's more authentic than a tenor
banjo? Who would want to de-tune an instrument to a
range it's not supposed to play in the first place?
And a 6 string banjo IS a banjo, designed for guitar
players who needed to fit in at a time when the four
string banjo was the rhythm instrument of choice and
one of the most popular instruments in the country.
Personally, I don't listen to Dixieland bands that
don't have a banjoist-it's just not real. The whole
idiom is losing its heritage fast.
