Two more excellant recreationist bands.

1. Pam Pameijer's New Jazz Wizards
Music of Louis Armstrong, Hot 5 & 7, 2 vols. Stomp Off 1350, 1363
Remember Johnny Dodds, 2 vols. Stomp Off 1382, 1395

These delightful CDs recreate the basic sounds and vibes of of the subject
bands. Without being slavish, the listener who knows the originals will
enjoy NJW for much the same reasons as he enjoyed the originals.

2. The Peruna Jazzmen. By now they've covered most of the hard-core
classics--Oliver, Armstrong, Morton, etc.--on their many CDs (Available
from Jerry Brown) This Danish band has made the various styles their own.
