[Dixielandjazz] Six String Banjo

It is considered by some, Eddy Davis and me for example, to be the first
jazz banjo. It was used on Armstrong's Hot Five and Hot Seven records as
well as Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Chili Peppers in his 1927 recordings.
Johnny St Cyr played one as well as Clancy Hayes and others. Rob

I finally made the discovery that he was playing a very unusual instrument .
. a 6 string banjo called a BANJITAR (some folks spell it banjuitar). This
is a hybrid instrument between and Banjo and a Guitar. The build of a banjo
with a slightly wider neck and the 6 strings of a guitar.
(snip)

That instrument sounds like what Clancy Hayes used to play. Check out Bob
Scobey's recordings.
