MacCormack died on June 12,1971. Cliff Mercer continued the Meister Brau
showcase until Miller Brewing bought Meister Brau. It was after that that
Tallman took over sponsorship of the all-night show on 'GN. I *think*
Norman Ross may have taken over the all-night show (Tallman) for a period of
time before that spot went to Jay Andres.

Franklyn MacCormack's sponsor back then was Meister Brau beer (The Meister
Brau Showcase). Norman Ross had a show sponsored by Tallman Savings (Tunes
from Tallman.)
I was a regular Saturday night listener to MacCormack because of his
"Curtain Call" hour from midnight to 1:00 a.m.

Yes, I just recalled the Meister Brau sponsorship this morning . . .
however, at the end of Franklin's tenure, it changed to the Tallman All
Night Showcase.
And being the powerful clear channel station WLS is, and the time of day,
the show was really heard across most of the US.
Thanks for the correction.
