[Dixielandjazz] Why Send CDs to Radio Stations?

Some of us bandleaders have been sending CDs to radio stations for a while.
Mostly, I think because we want to music to live on. Often we are surprised
at the play lists. Note this one below from 2004.

Barbone Street is sandwiched between Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker, Dr.
Michael White between Herbie Hancock and Stan Kenton and Titan Hot 7 follows
John Coltrane. 

Let's hear it for diversity. <grin>

These were on KCBX in the San Luis Obispo area of California. Recently,
their jazz offerings have gone more modern . . . unfortunately.
