I think you are confusing the issue here. You are comparing individuals with 
a `band`. The idea of a uniform, any uniform, is to make you look like a 
team, not just some oddball group which had just happened to get together. 
(Even if you are)
This `problem` keeps being re hashed here and I just dont see what the hang 
up is. If Joe Public expects you to dress a certain way then do it. 
Ultimately he is paying your wages.
If your boss at work wants you to wear a suit or a sweater with the company 
logo on it you would do it without question. What is the difference?
