Jeeze, I hope none of your bands are wearing garter *belts* (at least
visibly)!  Maybe arm garters, but certainly not garter belts to hold up your
nylons (or since we're talking about traditional jazz here, maybe silk
stockings!  Of course if we're talking about Mighty Aphrodite, that's
another story.
