[Dixielandjazz] Red Sea Jazz Fans

When they asked me what to listen to to hear the kind of music The
Ambassadors of New Orleans played, I suggested they  search for Eddie Condon
records.

Not that we were anywhere near as good, but the music we played was as
closely identified with Condon as a jam band gets.

While our cache was "New Orleans" the music was SOLOIST ORIENTED, SWING
RHYTHM, FREE BLOWING JAZZ. Visceral, from the gut, like "Chicago" or
"Condon" styles.

How could it be otherwise when this was the first time this band played
together? Especially if two of the front line horns were players of that
style gigging together for 10 years?
