I believe the instrument Condon played in that clip, other than the banjo,
was a lute.

Eddie began on guitar/mandolin, with a banjo lying to his right.  For 
his first vocal, he lays the guitar/mandolin on his left, sings, then 
picks up the banjo on his right and continues.  He plays banjo 
throughout the remainder, with the guitar/mandolin lying to his left,
