Dear Bob,
Further to our off-list discussion regarding "Milenberg Joys", it just
occurred to me that there is another misspelling of a tune title on an
original 78 record involving Jelly Roll Morton.
"Ponchatrain" recorded for Victor by his Red Hot Peppers on 20 March 1930.
The correct spelling for the Lake north of New Orleans is 'Pontchartrain'.
This was shown correctly on the Argentine Victor 76-0003 pressing.
So far as I know, all others including the copyright sheet (Southern Music
Co. 5 June 1930), have the misspelling.
Kind regards,
Bill.
