To those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting the Baglady
yet, let me tell you she is a charming and wonderful lady with the
enthusiasm of any 20 something she has a zest for life and laughter and
appreciation for not only good music but genuine people.
Just because we are all getting older is no reason to not keep on being
the same person we have always been, some of us just love people and
enjoy their company "he who dies with the most friends Wins" and
because some of us learned to try a bit harder to be friendly and
engaging to those in our audiences and who we just meet and take the
time to try and get to know them we naturally make a lot of friends
where ever we go. Heck I even do that at the supermarket check out
counter. I just like happy people and always have time to stop and
chat, life is just too short to do otherwise. You simply never know
where life will take you and that twinkling eye and smile from that
silver haired lady might just turn out to be your long lost prom queen
who broke your heart fifty years ago when she ran off with the football
player instead of the geeky kid in braces playing the clarinet. And
just because there is snow on the roof does not mean there is no fire
in the furnace there either. Like so many of us older guys have been
overheard saying. We do not get older mentally unless we allow it to
happen.
I can assure you that any lady deserves to be treated like a lady and
respected as such the way I was raised and age has nothing to do with
it. If they have a twinkle in their eye at 22 and can keep it
twinkling at 72 then they are entitled to have as much fun and
attention as anybody if they want to. Contrary to some misconceptions
all musicians and Men in particular do not need to run off to the no
tell motel with every woman they meet, but that does not preclude them
from making and becoming very good friends with them.
A genuine Hug of affection and genuine friendship is often worth more
to both than a roll in the hay. ( not that there is anything wrong
with hay rolling either ) well except for the hard straw sticking into
your bare butt. :)) And at our advancing ages most of us are not
wired for 2 20 's anyway. :)) We are only as old as we allow
ourselves to feel. SO by all means all ladies are welcome to feel me
and tell me how old I am :)) I am all for the second childhood which
will be followed by the second puberty : !! whooeee now where do I
sign up for that Geritol Cruise Ship full of rich divorcees ? We are
all gonna live till we die, so just enjoy it.
Musical content: "Forever Young" Neil Young.
Cheers,
Tom

Ah, but the very reason we have so many female fans, especially in
the USA,
is because we actively court them. Flirting, like jazz, is fast
becoming a
lost art.
Cheers,
Steve Barbone
***and I can attest, from first hand experience, neither Steve nor Tom
limit
thier courting to just the young and beautiful....but also to all age
groups...even us *old as dirt" !!! and they have perfected the art!!!
:o)
Hugs to them both......Nancie
