[Dixielandjazz] Red Sea Festival

No, this isn't another description of the event. But I really enjoy the  
"travelogues" of those who went there. The excitement must be the event of a  
lifetime for the band members. Maybe some day I'll be able to go also-assuming  
that hot jazz is still part of the festival.
 
Now for the original intent of this post- Why did the Preservation band  
cancel?? Was it out of fear, or politics, insurance issues, or just political  
"correctness?" 
 
I have heard this group twice when they toured this far North and although  I 
greatly respect them, they didn't move me, exception being Mr. Narvin on  
banjo. They sounded tired, and lacked the fire that they probably had years ago.  
No doubt the group put together by Tom outplayed them, and was an excellent  
replacement band, being better in every way.
 
Way to go  guys!!!                                                        Ted
